Stoic white architecture, art in itself, becomes function and background. Visitors leave their imprints on a public space. Theirs is the temple of de city of The Hague’s local democracy, the City Hall by architect Richard Meier. And they proudly nick-named it ‘Ice Palace’.
The essay was first exhibited in the Atrium of the City Hall in august 2001.
